Setup

For a quick overview, have a look at the Starting Up screencast.

Click on File → Settings to configure your connection to the phone system

Application / Connection

The QBIS Host address will be given to you when you sign up for a QBIS Com account.

The Extension and Password will also be assigned to you when you sign up. Enter them on this tab as soon as you get them.

Application / Settings

This section controls how QBIS Com reacts to inbound calls, when you answer a call, as well as other settings.

Pop Screen On Answer Turn this on if you want QBIS Com to automatically “pop” the clients screen when you answer the phone. This is the same behaviour as clicking the “Pop” button in the toolbar, and you can find out more about this in the main section of this manual. New Task On Answer If this is turned on then every time you answer a call the “New Task” QBIS Com screen pops up as if you had pressed “Task” in the toolbar. It is advised to have this turned on, as the pop up screen provides a very handy scratch pad!

Monitor Extension Status Only use this if you have issues with QBIS Com losing your connection. QBIS Com will then try and re-log you in if it detects your connection may have dropped. On Top When Ringing If you are not running QBIS Com as a docked application, then this setting will ensure that the phone is brought to the front of your screen whenever a call comes in.

Close Task Window When you answer a call you may get a Task screen pop up automatically but never use it. If you don't, then this setting determines when QBIS Com can automatically close it. Switch Back This setting will determine when QBIS Com will go back to your default customer if you have not used the phone for a while. This is handy to make sure you do not inadvertently dial out as the wrong customer.

Audio

In this section you need to identify the devices on your computer that you need to be able to talk, hear callers and hear the ringing of QBIS Com. The drop down boxes will vary from computer to computer. If you are unsure, please contact support.

Network

By default you don't need to use VPN to connect to the QBIS VOIP platform. However, in some cases this may be required. You will be given the settings when you have created your QBIS Com application.
