Projects

The top left of the main projects page shows the project “tree” or hierarchy. This allows you to easily navigate through your projects.

Clicking on a project will display its details in the top right hand panel. You can also choose to edit the project details at this point or even create a new project or task within that project. Clicking on Show Tasks will display all the tasks under the project you have selected. Clicking on the “+” and “–” icons in the project list will expand and collapse the branches of the project “tree”.

To change the security for a project, you can click on the padlock symbol in the right hand side of the list. Changing security for a project will also change the security for all tasks and sub-projects for the selected project, so use with caution.

Clicking on the Show All Projects button will toggle between showing only the open projects and showing closed projects as well.

View tasks in a project

To view all the tasks in a project, click the Show Tasks button and the lower half of the project form will then populate with all the tasks and sub-tasks within that project.

The top line will also show you relevant information as to the status of tasks within the project.

Create a new project

To create a new project, click on the Create Project button.

In this popup form you can specify the name and description of the new project as well as the person that owns it and if it belongs within another project. If you wish for all new tasks created within this project to have a default category assigned then select that from the drop down list.

If you close a project you are given the choice of being able to change the status of all tasks belonging to that project. For example, if you wish to close an existing project you may wish to change all open tasks to now be set to Cancelled.
